About This Gig

Gigosphere is an online ecosystem for the gig economy that aims to connect students and recent graduates with potential employers, clients, and startup collaboration opportunities.

Objective

By providing a single online space where students and grads can create their own place in the gig economy, or access permanent jobs, short term employment contracts, internships, and work-experience projects, Gigosphere hopes to connect emerging talent with employers and businesses opportunities, thereby reducing barriers to entry into the workplace.

Our online platform is creating Next-Gen Careers that match the aspirations of students and recent graduates while exposing a growing pool of talent to future employers and investors. By partnering with universities, colleges and senior schools we have the opportunity to recruit large numbers of future workers into our membership and build brand loyalty through their experience in the educational setting.

Problem Statement

Gigosphere provides a platform for students and recent graduates. who do not have obvious pathways to develop careers and work experience through the gig economy. In our home state of Victoria, unemployment amongst recent migrants, youth (15-24), First Nations, and people with disabilities can be between 2 and 4 times the State average.

Surveys indicate that about 61% of full-time “entry-level” jobs require over 3 years of experience, a major barrier to entry for many recent graduates.

By creating a complete gig economy ecosystem that is focused on providing a pathway to meaningful and fairly remunerated self-employment Gigosphere aims to solve the dilemna that faces many recent graduates seeking work without relevant work experience. The Gigosphere platform provides the tools and services that enable budding entrepreneurs to achieve success.
